Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour a 9x5-inch loaf pan.
In a large mixing bowl, mash the ripe bananas with a fork until smooth.
Stir the melted butter into the mashed bananas.
Mix in the granulated sugar, brown sugar, beaten egg, and vanilla extract until well combined.
In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt.
Gently fold the dry ingredients into the wet ingredients until just combined. Do not overmix.
Fold in the chocolate chips until evenly distributed.
Pour the batter into the prepared loaf pan and spread evenly.
Bake for 55 to 65 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean or with a few moist crumbs (but no wet batter).
Let the bread cool in the pan for 10 minutes before transferring it to a wire rack to cool completely.
